Participation in the EU Innovation Fund.

Trinasolar has been awarded funding as a beneficiary of the European Union’s Innovation Fund for the construction of MOD4PV: Gigawatt Scale Assembly Plant of Disruptive Technology PV Modules in Europe.

This project reflects Trinasolar’s strong commitment to supporting the EU’s ambitions for clean energy leadership, strategic autonomy, and the development of a local green manufacturing base. Trinasolar is deeply committed to the European market, and this project reinforces our long-term vision to invest in local value creation and supply chain resilience.

MOD4PV aims to set new solar photovoltaic (PV) module assembly plant in Extremadura (Spain). Targeting an annual production capacity of over 1.5 GWp, the project will rely on TOPCon Ultra technology, which features higher efficiencies and energy yields than conventional modules.

In line with European energy policies and net-zero targets, this project strengthens the PV industry by reducing energy dependency and contributing to renewable energy targets. The plant is expected to create around 250 indirect jobs during construction and an additional 560 jobs during the operational phase. The expected GHG emissions avoidance is estimated at 11,862,842 tons of CO₂ equivalent.

We are working closely with all relevant stakeholders to align the project with evolving market and policy conditions.
